ETNA IDENTITY

Guido Coffa & Monaci delle Terre Nere

'I have never defined myself the owner of the estate, if anything its Keeper: it was the place that chose me, I just dusted off its hidden beauty. Our vineyards have been handed down to us directly by the Monks. History has it that the archbishop of Catania, who had made Pisano his residence, gave the Monks the land to cultivate and it was the Monks themselves and, in particular, those of the he order of the Augustinians barefoot from Valverde who, from the 17th century, began to take care of the land in Pisano then called Contrada Monaci in their honor: they shaped the steep hills through the terraces that have come down to our days. BIODIVERSITY

Wine is Nature to drink

'The Earth is a gift that we inherit and that we must keep for future generations, we are its simple guardians and our task is to always treat it with care and love, as it has been handed down. '

OUR WINES

Guido Coffa's Wines

Owners in Zafferana Etnea

Etna is today the third most important region in Italy for its wine production, thanks to the variety of its soils and microclimates and the extraordinary quality of its wines. A nice milestone if we think that until 15 years ago it was considered a 'blending ' grape.
